How to Petition Your Legislators

People on the Go will keep you updated on bills that you may wish to submit testimony for, and other citizen actions you can take.

D.D. Day Sold Out This Year

The Developmental Disabilities Day at the Legislature in Annapolis, sponsored by several organizations, will take place on February 13th. While in-person registration is sold out, the event will be livestreamed and later available on YouTube. After the morning session, attendees will meet with state delegates and senators to discuss bills affecting the community. Maryland's motto "Leave No One Behind" highlights the event's mission.

Advocate For LISS

The Low Intensity Support Services (LISS) Program, which provides grants up to $2,000 for individuals with disabilities, may be eliminated from next year’s state budget due to funding issues. This program benefits 2,000-2,500 people annually, and its loss would impact many individuals and caregivers. An Advocacy Toolkit is available to help urge legislators to keep LISS funded.

Forever 21

Notes from the Boss’s Den

In 2024, People On the Go made significant strides in advocating for people with developmental disabilities, focusing on legislation for voting, transportation, and services. Looking ahead to 2025, we’re excited about our conference, nonprofit status, and ongoing projects like Project STIR. Join us in making a lasting impact!
