October Acts of Kindness
During the month of October, our challenge is to demonstrate love and kindness throughout our community by completing at lease one act of kindness each day. Pay for someone's cup of coffee, drop off cookies at a neighbor's house, or write that long overdue note! You can encourage others to join the challenge by leaving "Kindness Tags" or posting on social media using the hashtags #polkcityumc and #lovelikejesus.

Download the Acts of Kindness idea list & printable Kindness Tags! You can use these ideas or come up with your own!
Annual Charge Conference
Sunday, October 17 at 5:00 pm
New Hope United Methodist Church

Each United Methodist Church has an annual business meeting with the District Superintendant to celebrate its mission and ministry by reflecting on the work of the previous year, and to set its goals and church council leaders for the next year. This year, our charge conference will be held along with our Ministry Circuit, which includes congregations from Urbandale, Des Moines, Johnston, Grimes, Madrid and Women at the Well.

All church members are welcome to attend!
Fall Bible Challenge
We are reading the entire gospel of Luke this fall and hope everyone is reading along! Our goal is to have read all 24 chapters by the end of October. You can still join us!

Find links to the daily readings at or join a private Facebook group HERE for reading and reflecting together.
