    The Sept. 15, 2022 WVRC meeting was lease by VP Benjamin Fisher at the Delphi Greek Restaurant in Westwood Village. Starting on time, the meeting began with the pledge lead by PP Gordon Fell to a Flag plaque made by PP Tom Barron from the wine corks and presented to Roozbeh Farahanipour at the finish as a thank for this contributions to the Club. PP Marsha Hunt gave the "Thought of the Day", PP Ed Gauld sang "For He's a Jolly Good Fellow" and the meeting was underway. 


PP Diane Good presented the lovely Rana Farahanipour with her Paul Harries Pin and certified and, to Roozbeh and Rana, a Paul Harries + 2 pin for their son Danavand. 


The speaker for the day was none other than our very own Roozbeh Farahanipour who has a life story of survival against tyranny from his early beginning in Iran to his difficult escape and relocation to the United States. 


It is a fascinating story of a man born to do good in the word. Thank you Roozbeh for sharing your life store  so far, with us. 


VA Benjamin closed the meeting on time thanking everyone who attended. 


PS. Missing was President Chris Gaynor who was in Texas attending the service for PDG Bill Goodwyn. He will talk about the PDG Bill at next Thursday's meting.

UPCOMING CLUB EVENTS

  • Thursday September 22,2022 Speaker will be Dan Taylor, an award winning sportscaster and author who will be talking about this latest book, Walking Alone, the Untold Journey of UCLA football player, Kenny Washington. 
  • Volunteers are needed every Wednesday form 1-2pm a the Brentwood Presbyterian Church to set up and take down instruments for Music Mends Minds 5th Dementia Revival Drum Circle. 
  • Every Thursday from 8-11am at the Collins & Katz YMCA volunteers are need to hand out food to those in need.
  • Rotary District 5280's "Means Business" first ever Business District Music will be held on October 27, 2022 at Music Studio in Van Nuys, from 6-8pm. Tickers can be obtained on District 5280's website. All are welcome to attend. 
  • Foundation Celebration Tickets are now available purchased online and WVRC is looking for 100% participation. Look for PP Steve Day's emails on how to purchase a book and save the date, Nov 20,2022 from 1-6pm at Novo at LA Live for the Foundation Celebration. "The Soul of Rotary" concert. 
  • The Christmas Shopping Spree with homeless Children will be in person this year on December 1st - SAVE THE DATE to participate in WVRC's annual premier project from 2022!
