Introducing
Nothing quite brings out the best in our hoppy beers like citrus and vanilla! This juicy pale ale got the full treatment with a pound of Madagascar vanilla beans and the zest of more than 200 citrus fruits. We zested mostly oranges and grapefruits, but added a few lemons and limes. Like rainbow sherbet in a glass (without lactose)!

This isn't an India Brown Ale, or a Sour Brown, or an Imperial Brown. It's just a classic Brown brewed with English Maris Otter, Chocolate, and Caramel malts. Hopped with East Kent Goldings, and fermented with our house English Ale. The result has notes of coffee ice cream, toasted bread, and orange marmalade.

Our "of Light" pale ales have followed a similar formulation since we started brewing. We tweak the hops, but not much else. We gave this batch a new name to signify the tweaked fermentation and malt. Combined they allow a brighter more saturated hop expression and a cleaner honey-like finish. Exclusively dry-hopped with Vic Secret to bring peach, passion fruit, and citrus aromas.

It pours an opaque, mocha brown with a caramel-colored foam. The fresh chocolatey, cold brew aroma hits your nose, and a jolt of energy runs from your hands to your slippers. You give your mug a swirl and sip. The roasty, toffee, and red cherry flavors dance across your tongue like the silk pajamas you have on. The creamy, nougaty body is complimented by the bright, vivid, locally roasted Brazilian coffee from our friends at Vent Coffee Roasters. Your mug is empty now and the choice is yours: Do you binge your watchlist or do you start doing chores? Either way, you can stay in your Pajama Pants all day.

Brewed to a low abv with a modest amount of lactose, we then conditioned this beer on large amounts of milk chocolate. Idle Hands was crafted to be an adult, chocolate milkshake while remaining sessionable. This beer has big notes of milk chocolate with a slight touch of caramel, all wrapped up with a medium body and a pleasant carbonation level to help accentuate the chocolate notes across the palate. This beer is packed with nostalgia of standing in a cafeteria lunch line and reaching for a carton of good old choccy milk.

We took our robust porter base and tweaked it a bit by amping up the pale chocolate malt, adding some pale roasted barley instead of our normal dose of chocolate wheat and mashing just a touch warmer. We then fermented it with a classic English yeast strain and let it condition on pounds and pounds of fresh toasted almonds. We added just a dash of Madagascar vanilla to smooth out the nooks and crannies and have what we think is one nutty and delicious treat.

We loved Even More Unbalanced so much that we decided to pump the brakes on it and scale this TIPA down to a DIPA. The same blend of Citra, Galaxy, Denali, Mosaic, and Amarillo pours an intensely hazy tangerine color with a blast of bright tropical mango, pineapple, apricot, and berry. The taste is blended tropical fruit. It remains fluffy but with a proper bitterness for balance.

Relative Rates uses a blend of modern hops and pours a hazy bright yellow. We get whiffs of tropical fruit, citrus, sweet tangerine and weed on nose. It’s flavor is tropical fruit, big citrus, plenty of melon with and undercurrent of faint strawberry. The finish is resinous but starts off soft before the juicy undertones take the lead. Think warm breeze, bright sun and beach drinks made of OJ, Melon and Berry with our signature #EQJuice profile.

We have a saying here at Flying Dog…when life gives you oranges, squeeze them until they’re dry, then add a bunch of alcohol. Inspired by the Maryland Shore’s most beloved beach cocktail, this one hits you with a wave of bright orange, then carries you off to sea with a citrusy, sweet finish. So tighten up those swim trunks, ‘cuz you’re about to ride a Tsunami of Citrus.

Drew's Pick
Drew is a huge fan of "The Sound of Music," (and musicals in general) so he was thrilled when we started carrying beer from the famed Von Trapp Family. Traditional in style, Helles is brewed with pilsner malt to produce a dry, snappy finish while Perle and Tettnanger hops create a spicy, herbal hop aroma. The result is an incredibly clean, yet complex, lager.
