Showroom TV Upgrade

Attention Managers! A Roku player is on its way to your location (some of you already have one installed). When it arrives, you will find some instructions inside. Please appoint a person to install the Roku player at your Showroom TV – it easily plugs into the back or side of your tv with a USB and an HDMI cable – everything is included in the Roku box. Once installed, you can return your thumb drive to Ashley West in BR31.

Click here to view some short visual instructions on how to navigate to the YouTube app and select the Showroom TV Playlist.

We’re happy to bring you a special extended edition of Coffee Time, in a podcast-format. In this edition, we’re chatting with Mike about the strategy behind the forming of our in-house EV Champions, as well as important industry insights and trends. Click the image below to listen in!

Delivery Notifications Reminder

Postcards and flyers are in your branch locations, email blasts have been sent out and social media content has been posted about our Delivery Notifications capabilities.

Everyone should have also enabled the new Delivery Notification email signature.

But we still need your help in notifying your customers that this convenient and robust solution is available to them. Knowing when to expect a delivery can save both you and your customers a lot of back and forth phone and email-time. AND, with the help of Sean Jarvis, we’ve just launched a short video that we’ll be sending out to customers to help promote this capability. Check it out

Accounting:

We have an updated process for COD customer returns. Funds should be returned in the same form of payment we received originally.

  1. If the original sale was paid by Cash, any cash return needs to be approved by accounting over $200.00. Call the accounting hotline 4491 or e-mail [email protected] to get approval.
  2. If the original sale was paid for by Check, accounting needs to confirm the check has cleared our bank account first. To mail out a refund check, we will need the customer's mailing address. The check will be made out to how the name appears on the account in solar.
  3. If the original sale was paid with a Credit Card, the return needs to go back on a credit card.

E-mail [email protected] or call the accounting hotline 4491 with any questions.

Safety:

GMES Safety Update

So far in 2024 GMES has incurred 23 accidents company-wide. Six of these have been vehicle accidents and 17 have been damage or injury related accidents. As we enter the 2nd quarter of the year, the GMES Safety Team asks that all employees are cognizant of their surroundings and potential hazards around them. Be sure to be lending a hand and offering help to co-workers who are moving and lifting items, and to help guide them and be a spotter for them if they are utilizing a forklift to move heavy loads. Let’s continue to work together today, towards a safer tomorrow.

GMES Driver Safety Update

As we continue to gather driver data through our on-board Samsara camera systems in our trucks there are 3 main driving violations that the GMES Safety Team is seeing recorded continually, which we need our drivers to take seriously going forward.

  1. Mobile Device Usage: We are continuing to see high numbers of mobile device usage being recorded in our vehicles. GMES has provided drivers with cell phone holders and headsets, and we need to be utilizing these to cut down on mobile device use in the vehicles. In the previous 30 days we have had 841 recorded incidents of mobile device usage. This goes against GMES compony policy and is also illegal in all of the states we operate in. Please do your part to reduce mobile device usage in GMES vehicles.
  2. Rolling Stops: We have also recorded 149 instances of rolling stops in the previous 30 days. Please be sure you are coming to a complete stop at all stop signs and red lights while driving a GMES vehicle. Remember, going through stop signs or red lights at any speed is illegal in all the states we operate in.
  3. No Seat Belt: We have recorded 209 instances of “no seat belt” in the previous 30 days as well. Seat belts save lives, that is a proven statistical fact. Please be sure you are always wearing your seat belt when operating a GMES vehicle.

Human Resources:

April is "Stress Awareness" Month

With April being "Stress Awareness" Month, we at GMES understand sometimes life can be stressful in both our work and personal lives. You can use some of these useful tips and tricks to help avoid stress:

  • Take care of yourself - Eat a well-balanced diet, get enough sleep, and exercise on a regular basis.

  • Engage in self-relaxation - Try muscle relaxation, breathing or meditation exercises, prayer, yoga, or swimming to reduce stress. Spend time with nature or listen to quiet music.

  • Take breaks when needed - Especially at work, taking breaks can help you re-organize and re-energize your thoughts and focus. This will help you do your work and maintain productivity

  • Seek out social support - A partner, family member, friend, counselor, doctor, or clergyperson can help lighten your mental load

  • Connect with others socially - Spending time with loved ones and doing fun things can help ease the stress.

  • Maintain a normal routine - Get up in the morning and go to bed at night each day at the same time. Eat three meals daily.

  • Give back to others - Sometimes channeling your energy into giving – like doing community service or helping a neighbor or a friend – can channel your energy in positive ways.
