Two Side Paths Enhance Pedestrian Connectivity
Fitness for all: An exercise station similar to this equipment found on the Library Loop Trail will be installed on Woodchase Drive, near Sneed Elementary School. Pedestrians on the upcoming Elmside Woodchase Trail can take a small detour to the equipment.

Work underway on Deerwood Drive is progressing for a project that is significant to building Houston's first ever connection to Buffalo and Brays Bayou. When complete it will bring a long-awaited connection between the Terry Hershey Trail System and the Brays Bayou Trail System with improved sidewalks and added bike lanes on the north end of the District.

Bicyclists and pedestrians will enjoy a reconstructed, 8-foot wide, continuous sidewalk along the west side of CityWest Blvd, from Westheimer to Briar Forest. Read More

Community Invited to Support Wilcrest Park Through Campaign Where Individuals Can Give

Westchase District is inviting the community to help support a fundraising goal of $3.5 million needed to build a spectacular park at Wilcrest Park.

With Woodchase Park under construction, Westchase District has turned its attention to raising the funds necessary to complete its second park to be built on a 3.5 acre parcel of land on Wilcrest near the Robinson Westchase Library and the District's Library Loop Trail. Under the banner of Wilcrest Park Community Campaign, Westchase District has designed a campaign where people get involved early and support the campaign.

The Wilcrest Park Community Campaign has proposed the following contribution levels: $1,000+ contributions will receive recognition in a special issue of Westchase Today and The Wire, while $2,500, $5,000, $10,000 level gifts will receive special donor markers in the park in small, medium or large sizes.

"We're already receiving positive feedback from the corporate and philanthropic community, but we want to give every business and individual an opportunity to invest in this park," said Louis Jullien, Westchase District's projects director who is overseeing the Greenspace for Westchase Campaign.
