Greenspace for Westchase Receives $750,000 Grant from Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission

Westchase District has been awarded a $750,000 grant by the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission (TPWC) for its development of Wilcrest Park. The District has previously received a $500,000 grant from TPWC for the park. Wilcrest Park was one of 38 projects that were recognized. Altogether, $21.6 million was awarded to projects that create and enhance outdoor recreational opportunities. "We're grateful to the Texas Parks & Wildlife Commission for their investment in our park," said Louis Jullien, who spearheaded the grants application on behalf of Westchase District. TPWC's awards were recently covered by the Houston Chronicle.

But as any engineer will tell you, real-world conditions don't always match up to what was expected when the project was in design. In fact, they even have a name for it: unforeseen field conditions. Read More
