Message From The Dean

As part of the OspreyPAL program, UNF Division of Continuing Education is partnering with the Police Athletic League (PAL) to offer personal and career development workshops to 31 teens, ages 13 to 18. Eight instructors from LEARN Jacksonville, Professional Development and Osher Lifelong Learning Institute (OLLI) are volunteering their time to provide these workshops.

OspreyPAL is a partnership between UNF and PAL, created to provide youth in grades 6 through 12 with leadership, social and professional skills needed for the transition to adulthood as well as preparation for college and eventually the workforce. Four full ride scholarships will be offered to kids who excel academically and personally in the PAL program.
UNF-CE is a SHRM Exclusive University Partner
UNF Division of Continuing Education  was just recognized by the Society for Human Resource Management and the Holmes Corporation as a Top 20 SHRM Educational Provider nationwide, alongside other prestigious institutions like Rice University and George Mason University.

July's Teacher Feature was John Reed
Reed is the photography instructor for LEARN Jacksonville and teaches multiple courses including Digital Photography and Photo Editing Using Photoshop. There is even an in-the-field workshop Photo Safari at the Jacksonville Zoo coming soon!

John is a published, award-winning photographer who had his own business for many years. He is now primarily a nature photographer providing images for hospitals and commercial buildings. He is also the photo workshop leader at Okefenokee National Wildlife Refuge, a retired photographer for the Anheuser-Busch Brewery newsletter and current photographer for Jacksonville Zoo and Gardens requests.
