President John Delaney Speaks to OLLI

Ten Years Ago...

The University of North Florida Division of Continuing Education saw the need in our community for a new type of instruction: education focusing on creativity, curiosity and general well-being. LEARN Jacksonville was created to take learning beyond the classroom and invited individuals to try new experiences to enrich their lives and to explore "learning for the fun of it".

Ten years later, LEARN Jacksonville has served more than 20,000 adult learners and has more than 40 instructors — and our numbers continue to grow. Some of the personal enrichment courses offered today include Arts, Crafts and Hobbies, Health and Wellness, Home and Garden, Languages, Money Matters, Technology, Photography, Writing and Wine Tasting.

As part of our celebration this summer, we will be giving away all sorts of prizes and goody bags to students who take LEARN Jacksonville classes. You could win gift cards for restaurants, original arts or crafts created by our instructors, class discounts and so much more. So, sign up for one of our classes in the Summer 2018 catalog to be eligible to win. If you would like to explore the vast array of classes being offered, visit www.LEARNJacksonville.com .

Look Who Stopped By...

UNF's President John Delaney recently visited one of our OLLI classes, "Parks: Our Timeless Treasures", to share insights about the Preservation Project Jacksonville. Created in 1999 during Delaney's tenure as mayor, the initiative was designed to protect environmentally sensitive lands, enhance public access to natural areas, manage growth and improve water quality.
