This Sunday @ VBC
Sunday School begins at 9:15 AM, as usual (Young Adults at RND @ 9 AM). There are a couple of room updates that will actually happen this Sunday (the rooms are being prepared now): the Pete Creasy class will begin meeting in room 131 (the former Berean classroom behind the Welcome Center), and the Barnabas class will move to room 107 on the first floor of the gym building. Walk with Jesus will NOT meet this week, as Jodi will be with the youth on Fall Retreat. If you don't currently attend Sunday School, click here for our 2026-27 Sunday School brochure and pick a class to try out this week!
During Morning Worship at 10:30 AM, we have a special treat: the Pandemonium Steel Drum Band! Travis will also bring another message in his series on the I AM statements in John: "I Am the Way, the Truth, and the Life," based in John 14:1-14. If you cannot worship with us in person, please watch online at vintonbaptistchurch.org.
Please be in prayer for our youth, who will leave on Fall Retreat this Friday at 4:30 PM; they will return approximately 1 PM Sunday.
The Preteens will have their Pumpkin Palooza at 4 PM Sunday in the small dining room. All 3rd - 5th graders are invited. There will be games, dinner (pizza, chips, punch, and dessert made by Ms. Joanna), a Bible lesson (bring your Bible), and more! See Jodi with questions.
Handbells will rehearse at 5 PM, as usual. There will be NO Weeknight Worship rehearsal or Youth Dinner/Extreme.

HVAC Update
Our total needed to finish out the HVAC project is roughly $238,850. We now stand at $237,197! That means we only need $1,653 to finish paying for this HUGE project! You have been faithfully giving each week for months, and we are so very thankful. Please use an HVAC envelope or note HVAC somewhere on your check or envelope when you give this week so that we can pay off this project in full! You can give online by clicking here and noting your gift for the HVAC fund.

Food Pantry Donations
Needed for Holiday Boxes
The Food Pantry has requested donations of the following items, which will be used for both Thanksgiving and Christmas food boxes:
- 1 lb. canned hams (shelf-stable, NOT refrigerated)
- canned green beans
- canned corn
- canned cranberry sauce
- canned gravy
- mashed potatoes
- macaroni & cheese
- stuffing/dressing mix
- canned yams
Please note: They prefer that all canned vegetables be 15-16 oz. cans (NOT the huge cans, which are more difficult to handle). The shelf-stable canned hams are generally available at Wal-Mart, Dollar Tree, Roses, and sometimes Dollar General. Thanksgiving food boxes will be distributed November 9th, 16th, and 23rd. Christmas food boxes will be distributed December 7th, 14th, and 21st. Donations can be dropped off at the Missions Tables. Thank you for blessing our community with these extra holiday foods!

Bible Reading Plan
I struggle with Romans because it is so dense - both intellectually and theologically. I feel like I need time to examine every word/phrase to draw out its implications and applications for my own life. And that can be exhausting when there are a million other things to do on any given day.
At the same time, Romans is such a rich letter, expounding upon the promises of God. Many of our favorite Bible passages can be found in this book, including from today's reading in chapters 5 and 6. I was so encouraged this morning by Paul's forthright words: "If we have been united with him [Jesus Christ] like this in his death, we will certainly also be united with him in his resurrection" (6:5). What a promise!
BibleProject continues their video series in Romans, focusing on chapters 5-16. Click here to see it.

Faith Formation at Home Video Series
In conjunction with CBF Virginia, Travis has developed a resource to help parents think about simple, intentional ways to create rhythms of discipleship with their children. He has now turned that resource into a video series that can be used by individuals, families, or churches. Click here for a link to Every Day's Theology. You will need to set up a free account to access the resources available, including Travis' series. Check it out!

I love you!
