THANK YOU!!
We just want to take a moment to thank our entire church family for the various ways that you have served our church and community over the last few weeks (and even months). We have asked a lot of you lately, and you have been willing to give generously of your time, your talents, and your resources.

Thank you, Vinton Baptist Church, for your donations to the Gloria Sink Memorial Coat Drive! Through your generous coat/hoodie and monetary donations, you have provided coats for Vinton area kids in need and kept alive the vision and dream that Gloria Sink had so many years ago! The JOY Council would like to say, "Thank You." You have once again shown the love of Christ through your actions by fulfilling each request for a coat/hoodie. A special thanks to Helen Foster and Audrey Thrasher for shopping and to Mary Kendrick and Audrey Thrasher for delivering coats. Our kids will be warm this winter!

Thanks for making this year's Trunk-or-Treat event a SUCCESS! We estimate that over 1,000 children attended this event! Thanks to the Family & Recreation Committee for handling the games and prizes. We appreciate every decorated trunk. And we don't know what we would have done without all the candy and treats that were donated. God bless you! | |
Many thanks, once again, to EVERYONE who has made the Vinton Community Playground come to life! The fence was installed Monday, and finishing touches were put on the playspace yesterday. It officially opened TODAY, and we had our first kiddo come try it out! It appears to have met his expectations! We are so excited about providing this space for area children to play and grow over the coming years. Thank you for making that happen!

Church Directory
We are currently finalizing photos and information for our new church directory. If you did not have your picture taken by our directory photographer, you still have the opportunity to be included in the directory by taking a current "selfie" and paying a $20 fee (which also allows you to receive a completed directory). All selfies are due by November 15th and can be emailed to kim@vintonbaptistchurch.org. If you need help having your picture taken, please call the church office and we will try to arrange for someone to come take your picture. Copyrighted pictures (taken by another company) and old pictures cannot be used.

30 Years of Service!

A table will be set up in the Welcome Center by this Sunday, which will allow you to drop off a card of appreciation to Chris sometime this month.

Bible Reading Plan
I hope that you're finding the book of Job as fascinating as I am. There's a whole range of emotions that express themselves as we consider what Job has been through and as we hear Job and his friends speak. Sometimes I have to step back and say, "I can't believe he really said that!" Like when Eliphaz accuses Job of terrible things: "Is not your wickedness great? Are not your sins endless? You demanded security from your brothers for no reason; you stripped men of their clothing, leaving them naked. You gave no water to the weary and you withheld food from the hungry ...." (22:5-7). I'm glad I don't have "friends" like that! Very soon we will be coming up on some of the most powerful words in scripture (in my opinion), when we hear God address Job and his friends, starting in chapter 38. I would love to hear your feedback as we continue through the book of Job.
