Commandant's Message
Marines and Associates,

I want to start of by wishing everyone a Happy New Year!
This year we have much in store for us, we have booked many bands for the summer, along with food trucks and promotions. So stay tuned to our Facebook page, website, the newsletter and the event board down in the member lounge.
As last year we made improvements to the function hall, this year we are making improvements to the members lounge. We are scheduled to install new carpeting down in the members lounge this March after our St. Patty’s day Parade party function. We also plan to replace our bar stools, chairs and tables as long as we can keep the Paymaster Marine Cheney in a good mood.
Then in the week of February 9th we are replacing the tiles around the bar, as well as getting a fresh coat of paint in the members lounge and restrooms. If you would like to help with painting we are looking for volunteers so please reach out to the Bar Manager Melissa and she will get you in tune with the plan. We are also making some repairs to our docks prior to them going in and in the spring and update to signage around the stage.
An update with the wall, we are currently set to meet with the conservation committee this month, and our engineer is optimistic of our progress. So after this meeting this month there will be much more to tell on a timeline.
We have implemented a new system to reach out to the Marines and Associates via email of members that have passed so that we may show support in anyway we can. With that being said we need more Marines to help out with the Color Guard and it’s duties, so if you can help please contact Marine Paul Manna, and don’t worry about not having a uniform we have set up a wall locker of spare uniforms for you to use.
We thank you all for your support and please pardon our appearance in the next couple months as we make improvements to our members lounge and we hope you all enjoy the new upgrades because if it wasn’t for you all we wouldn’t be able to accomplish this.

Marines Needed for Color Guard
O ne of the most important tasks we are involved in at the MCL is to take part in ceremonies for Marines who pass away and for events that arise during the year. The number of volunteers is dwindling down and we need your help. We are in the process of ordering additional uniforms that can be available to borrow or purchase. Whatever time you can give will be greatly appreciated, and very rewarding.
If you can spare time weekdays, nights or weekends please contact Paul Manna at 508-596-4416.
