W
e would like to take this opportunity to thank all Marines, Associates and contributors who participated in making our 2017 “Toys for Tots” campaign such a great success.
Without your help and generosity putting out and collecting boxes, sorting and distributing toys this program would not have been as successful.
Through our combined efforts we were able to collect over $6536.00 in checks and cash contributions. This money will be sent to the 25
th
Marines at Fort Devens and then forwarded to the “Toys for Tots” Foundation.
Additionally, we were able to collect and distribute hundreds of toys that were given to individuals and organizations that contacted us looking for help during the holiday season.
Thanks to all of you, all twenty-eight children in the Transitional Housing, “Sponsor a Child” program were provided an abundance of greatly needed winter clothing and toys.
Any remaining toys were again donated to the “Seven Hills Foundation”, an organization in Worcester that supports several other organizations, that help in the development of mentally and physically challenged children and adults in the Worcester area.
Special thanks also goes out to our Marine and Associate “Bucket Brigade” who, on Dec. 2
nd
, dodged traffic and braved the cold for four hours at the two intersections in Auburn and one in Worcester.
Jack (Santa Claus) Wilhelmi kept the passing car horns blasting while they were dropping their hard earned money in our buckets.
Again, I want to thank everyone who helped in any way to make this year’s campaign such a great success.
We wish you all a special Happy and Healthy New Year. We can’t thank you enough.
