I developed a chronic illness a decade ago that has me sleeping for 12 hours daily and exhausted the rest of the time. Professional contacts outside of my company have no way to know this and our conversations periodically turn to suggestions from them that I give a conference talk or that we lead a working group or write an article together. This is all impossible for me.
