Today as we learn the results of this election, many among us feel disbelief and fear. While elected officials wield great power to impact the laws and systems within which we find ourselves, the changing of a president does not change our call for this place and time. The injustices of our world remain the same today as they were yesterday, and while the task may feel more urgent now than ever the work before us remains the same. The Alliance of Baptists remains committed to pursuing racial justice and the work of becoming an antiracist organization—exposing White Supremacy in all of its forms. We remain committed to the work of radical inclusion and proclaiming God’s loving justice for the world: For Gaza. For women. For the LGBTQIA+ community. For immigrants. For those outcast and marginalized by our systems.
This day and every day the Alliance of Baptists continues be a body of individuals, organizations, and congregations driven by a higher calling to do justice, love mercy, and walk humbly with our God.
We must keep at it, Alliance family. The work continues.
