THE WORK OF THE FUTURE: Where Will It Come From?

Osher Summer Lecture Series Week 2 features DAVID AUTOR, Ford Professor of Economics at MIT and Co-director of the National Bureau of Economic Research Labor Studies Program. CATV and the Osher Lifelong Learning Institute at Dartmouth have partnered to offer Osher's popular series for streaming and broadcast exclusively on CATV cable channels. Expect a new lecture each week through Nov. 8 for the next six weeks. Your donation makes this programming possible and supports both organizations, who share a commitment to lifelong learning and civil society.

CATV Fall Media Labs  

Stretch new creative muscles or get back in shape while meeting fellow

Upper Valley media professionals sharing their trades and talents in master class-styled “media labs.” These hands-on workshops can stand alone or work together to provide a comprehensive introduction to digital media arts production. 

No previous experience required.

Cinematography

Peter Ciardelli (MFA Media Studies, Univ. of New Orleans) was one of the cinematographers on The War Tapes and teaches film at Dartmouth.

Digital Narrative

Leander White (BFA Fine Art Communication Design, Pratt Institute) currently consults with CATV on visual identity and branding.

Documentary Filmmaking

Tamsin Orion (MA Film Production, Stanford Univ.) is newly arrived in the Upper Valley and has shot award-winning films on all continents except Antarctica.

Interview Techniques for Podcast, Livestream or Documentary

Marion Abrams, "Grounded Content" Podcast Producer, is a content creation coach and built Spartan’s podcast from an audience of 0 to over 35 million.

Screenwriting

Rivers Cahee (BA Film & Media Studies, Dartmouth), winner of the Kaplan Filmmaker of the Year Award, is currently writing an original series pilot for AMC.

Digital Music Production

Chris Lehmann (BA College of Wooster) has been composing for 10+ years with a popular YouTube channel featuring his original music and tutorials to help others create.

Acting for the Screen

Richard Waterhouse, acting instructor at Brown Univ., brings 25 years' experience coaching and directing actors for screen and stage.

Digital Film & Video Editing

Samantha Davidson Green (MFA Film Directing, UCLA) brings her independent filmmaking to her current role as Executive Director at CATV.

Production Orientation at the Briggs

Chico Eastridge, Senior Producer at CATV, leads this orientation for prospective producers at the Briggs Opera House space for live, live-streamed and pre-recorded events.

Government Meetings on CATV On-Demand

What's that funny split screen? It's an OWL! CATV continues to adapt with local town leaders and school boards to provide coverage of public meetings (Hartford, Hartland, Norwich, VT, Hanover, NH and SAU88 in Lebanon, NH). The "Owl" is a modular camera/audio device to facilitate "hybrid" meetings with remote participants via Zoom and other platforms.
