Celebrating Second Chance Re-Entry Month
|
April is Second Chance Re-Entry Month, a time to acknowledge the challenges formerly incarcerated individuals face as they reintegrate into society and to celebrate the opportunities and successes that can come from second chances.
Studies have shown that access to employment opportunities is one of the most important factors in lowering recidivism among formerly incarcerated individuals. Platform to Employment Re-Entry provides a comprehensive, holistic approach to re-entry services that focuses on the whole person. In addition to job training and placement services, the program offers supportive services such as behavioral health and financial counseling, transportation and childcare assistance, and other resources to help individuals overcome the challenges that can arise during the re-entry process. By addressing these underlying issues, the program helps build a foundation for long-term success.
If you or someone you know was formerly involved with the judicial system and is seeking support contact us today using the button below.

RemoteWorks Offers New Credential
|
The WorkPlace is excited to offer remote training opportunities to individuals looking for work-from-home jobs. The job market has undergone a shift, creating a new digital divide that threatens to limit opportunities. The most severely impacted are women of color, whose job options are shrinking in this new economy and who may lack the resources to work remotely. The RemoteWorks program is designed to equip individuals with the skills and knowledge they need to thrive in a work-from-home environment.
RemoteWorks offers a range of benefits and services to help participants achieve their career goals. In addition to job readiness training, participants receive assistance with resume building, job searching, and placement. With more employers transitioning to remote and cloud-based work environments, the demand for trained remote workers is growing. This new "digital divide" will only widen the gap between those who can work remotely and those who cannot. The WorkPlace will offer a credential that can assure employers that potential employees have the necessary skills, both hard and soft, to be successful in remote work options.
