Building Wealth, Faith, and Community. From an early age, Jonathan Wright’s father instilled in him the principles of financial responsibility—values that became the bedrock of his career and calling. Those lessons of discipline, stewardship, and integrity have guided every step of his journey, shaping not only the professional he became but also the leader he is today.
After earning his Finance degree from Hampton University, Jonathan continued to sharpen his expertise by completing an Executive MBA at the University of Maryland, where he graduated at the top of his class. His career began on Wall Street, where he gained firsthand experience in global finance, before moving into leadership roles at the Department of Defense. There, he championed federal access for minority-owned small businesses, ensuring doors of opportunity remained open for underrepresented entrepreneurs.
But Jonathan’s vision extended far beyond personal success. In 2009, he founded The Money Smart Ministry, a faith-rooted initiative designed to deliver financial literacy to his church and surrounding communities. Through its signature program, Retire Inspired, Jonathan has helped more than 150 individuals prepare for retirement with clarity, confidence, and biblical perspective. His approach has always been deeply personal: meeting people where they are, speaking their language, and planting seeds of knowledge that grow into lasting legacies.
Beyond his ministry, Jonathan has partnered with community organizations such as the National Coalition of 100 Black Women, The Links, Incorporated, Delta Sigma Theta Sorority, Inc., and First Mount Zion Baptist Church, co-hosting financial wellness events and workshops that expand his reach and deepen his impact.
Today, as the founder of Wright Time Financial, Jonathan is carrying this mission even further. His firm provides ethical, culturally relevant, and community-focused financial planning—empowering clients to build generational wealth, mentoring young Black professionals entering the financial industry, and serving as a role model in a field where Black advisors are still vastly underrepresented.
For Jonathan, finance is more than a career—it is a calling. His journey embodies a story of resilience, faith, and purpose: a vision not only to succeed but to lift others as he climbs. Through Wright Time Financial, Jonathan Wright continues to turn vision into victory, leaving behind a legacy that will empower generations to come.
