Join our Sunday Volunteer Team!
Each Sunday members and friends of our congregation serve as scripture readers, announcement readers, ushers, coffee hour hosts, and communion preparers. These are all ways of using your time and talents to support our church community on the day we see each other most! Some roles require public speaking while others are more behind-the-scenes.

Women of Wydown Lunch
October 11 after Worship
All women are invited to join the Women of Wydown, who meet monthly for “brown bag” lunches hosted by church members in their home or other venue of choice. Everyone brings their own lunch and the host provides beverages and dessert. Valerie Jackson is hosting the next lunch on October 11 after worship at the church - in our new gathering space on the main level. If you don’t want to pick up lunch, Valerie is bringing a green gumbo and a sausage chicken gumbo. Men are welcome to swing by and get a taste of gumbo as well!

Racial Justice Group Educational Session
Sunday October 18 after Worship
After our worship service on October 18 our Racial Justice Group invites us to an educational session. An enhanced coffee hour is planned in the new gathering space, and immediately following the educational session will begin in the Chapel. The topic for this session is privilege, but not just white privilege. Privilege is not something to be ashamed of or silent about. It is something that can be used for the good. One person at a time. It starts with you.
And save the dates for two more educational sessions from our Racial Justice Group: November 8 and December 13.

Curated by Jordan Geiger
On view through November 7, 2026
The newest Red Gate Gallery exhibit, Inner Vision, asks: What do we see when we close our eyes, in our dreams, or in quiet moments? How can the practice of the spirit travel with us wherever we go? No-Sew Blankets - Request for Fabric Donations
Mission & Outreach/The Red Gate will host another workshop this fall to make no-sew fleece blankets for hospice patients. Please consider donating fleece fabric so we can make even more blankets this time - Each blanket requires two pieces of fleece, either 4 × 5 feet or 5 × 6 feet. Ideally, one piece should be a solid color and the other a coordinating pattern.

Isaiah 58 Ministries Thanksgiving Donations
Our church has pledged to collect 175 cans of creamed corn and 175 cans of green beans for Isaiah 58's Thanksgiving bags by November 9th! So we will not be collecting for their Bags of Blessings program for the next few months. Thank you for concentrating on the Thanksgiving season and helping to donate creamed corn and green beans for now. For those of you whom have already donated regular canned corn, this is great, but the CREAMED Corn is preferred!
And we will again organize their food give-away the Saturday before Thanksgiving, which is about a 2 hour commitment to sort food on tables for families to shop for the holiday.
