Vanessa Desrochers Named 2021 Employee of the Year
Vanessa Desrochers, staff assistant in the Office of Compliance, was named the 2021 Employee of the Year at the IHP’s annual Spirit Day. The annual award, now in its 12th year, recognizes significant contributions and teamwork. Several written testimonials lauded her “boots on the ground” dedication during the pandemic to ensure students coming onto campus were able to safely participate in on-site clinical classes, going above and beyond to make sure that everyone’s needs were being met, and her leadership of the Staff Council’s Health and Wellness Committee. According to one of several testimonials supporting her nomination: “Her tireless work each day prioritizes the success, health, and care of those with whom she works, to the benefit of the entire IHP community.”
Nine other staffers were nominated: Luella Benn, Office of Student and Alumni Services; Lauren Curry, Physician Assistant Studies; Joyce DeSanctis, Office of Enrollment Services; Carla Donati, School of Nursing; Hailey Laflin, Physical Therapy; Michael Moody, Office of the Provost; Greg Moore, Office of Information Technology; Amanda Tarbet, Office of the Provost; and Tony Williams, Center for Interprofessional Studies and Innovation. “The ranking was very close again this year and I am not surprised, based on this group of talented and dedicated nominees,” said President Paula Milone-Nuzzo.
