Meet our Newest Board Member

TIM SCOTT

SouthFair gives a warm welcome to Tim! The board unanimously voted for Time to expand his service landscape with SouthFair and he graciously accepted. He has served on SouthFair's advisory committee for a little over 2 years transitioning to our Board of Directors effective January. Tim has already shown his commitment to SouthFair and more importantly the South Dallas community.

Check out Tim's interesting background!

In 1991, at the early age of 14 years old, Timothy Scott began

traveling the world with his brothers as musicians in a Christian band. His award-winning band traveled extensively across the United States and Europe, performing over 200 dates a year. After more than 15 years of traveling as a musician, in 2005 he joined an audio production company and helped reenergize its clientele base. In 2007, he was promoted to Head of Operations then was quickly added as a managing partner. In four years’ time he took the company from operating at a deficit of $80,000 annually to operating at a surplus of $20,000 cash

reserve.

In 2009, he shifted his attention from the live event industry and

began working in the TV/Film industry. He decided to focus on visual storytelling and in 2010, he partnered with his former employers, the Oliver Brothers Productions Inc.; together they financed and produced his first short film, “Sandra: Twelve Hours in the Life of:” This short film was based on a true story and was accepted into the San Antonio International Film Festival. In 2010 Timothy toured with Grammy award winning jazz super group Snarky Puppy during their fall tour as their documentary videographer. To pursue his video interest further in 2011

he relocated to Los Angeles and worked on the first 2 seasons of NBC’s “The Voice” while continuing to finance and produce short films and music videos. This resulted in him producing a music video for Norwegian recording artist Hildegunn Gjedrem. The video was released on the E! Network on New Year’s Eve of 2011. In 2012 he helped develop and produce a Kenyan film, shot on location in Nairobi, Kenya. Pickafro Productions Inc. Starting in 2014, Timothy established his own visual production firm, Pickafro Productions Inc. Since then thru 2023 its founding Pickafro Productions Inc. has worked for some of the largest corporations in the world; Heritage Auctions, NBC, Live Nation, Honda, TNT, Disney and also major studio recording artists across multiple genres including Kiss, Lauryn Hill, CeCe Winans

and Norman Brown, just to name a few.

Pickafro Productions Inc. is currently the leading producer for a digital comedic web series that has secured financing and is in the middle of principal production.

Pickafro Productions Inc. continues to grow and take on the challenges of compelling story telling.

In addition to running his own company Timothy is also a board

member for a prominent non-profit serving the South Dallas

community and has served as a voting officer for several companies.

In Memoriam

Lois Lilly

Lois retired from SouthFair in 2019 after 9 years of service. Lois had over a 40 year long and impactful career before coming to work for SouthFair's previous and since passed Executive Director, Theodore Lawe. Lois continued to work under Annie's leadership until her retirement. Full of wisdom and so willing to share. Lois entered eternal rest last month.

DALLAS BRED ARTIST - FUNDRAISER

We have the amazing art work of Jamaal Stafford, that was given to our chair Marian Williams, as a donation to provide nonprofits a fundraising opportunity.

Annie's inside joke with Marian, SouthFair's Chair and retired educator with DISD, is that she has taught all of South Dallas.. Most times Annie asks as they meet new people "so is this a former student" , "you've taught them too haven't you", "Wow! This isn't a former student of yours"... all in fun! Well Jamaal is one of her former students.

Please support SouthFair in our upcoming 2024 art fundraiser. More details to come!
