Jake can't help himself, when he sees a skein of yarn, he has to attack it. I wonder what he thinks is inside it?? When his mama wants to crochet, she has to give Jake his own ball of yarn so that he doesn't mess with hers... yes, Jake does have his owner trained very well :)

Would you do it for a Scooby snack?
|
Scooby is a distinguished 13-year-old Yorkie with a sweet disposition who was surrendered on April 16. Scooby has a heart murmur, some issues with dry eye and has lost some teeth (may need additional dental work). Scooby would be the ideal companion for someone who is looking for a lap dog who still enjoys an occasional walk. Scooby is an early riser, goes outside to take care of his business and then it's back to bed for this sweet man! He is kennel trained and gets along well with other dogs and cats. He is in Northern California and ready for your love!

TWO INGREDIENT DOG TREATS
|
|
Spoil your little one with these SUPER EASY, home made dog treats!
Ingredients:
*1 cup whole wheat or white flour
*4 oz baby food, any flavor
Double or triple for more treats! I make mine 1x1 inch size, perfectly sized to thank my yorkie for using the potty outside!
|
|
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 350F and line a cookie sheet with parchment
- In a large bowl, mix the ingredients to form a dough-- I recommend starting with 3/4 cup of flour and adding more as needed to prevent the dough from being too dry. Add flour while kneading until the dough is no longer sticky
- On a lightly floured surface, roll out out the dough to about 1/4 inch thickness
- Use cookie cutters to make cute shapes, or more quickly-- use a pizza cutter and cut squares. My yorkie does not care what shape it is as he devours them...
- Bake for 20-25 min, then turn off the oven and let them sit until the oven cools. This helps dehydrate the treat. If you wish to skip the last step, or for a more chewy variety, just keep them in the fridge for 1-2 weeks-- if they last that long!

Dear God,
May I never forget to keep dreaming. Each day is an opportunity for a new beginning, and each disappointment is a chance to try again. Amen.

It is with great sadness that we share Bill's family's announcement of his passing. He was the inspiration for many of YTNR's early initiatives, most importantly the Annual Smoky Award. This annual award honors the rescue of the year, chosen among nominations by the adoptive families of YTNR's rescues. Thanks Bill for all your many years of love and support for the work we are doing on behalf of our beloved breed and in memory of Smoky. You will be missed. love.

We share the news today that Smoky's owner, trainer and companion William A. Wynne, age 99, recently passed into God's loving hands. He shared his final hours peacefully with his beloved family, whom he has deeply cherished. His storied lifetime, represented in word, photography, print and film, were especially poignant as he touched individuals with his spoken words, kindness and generosity.
Bill Wynne will forever live in our hearts, not just as a WWII reconnaissance photographer, NASA research photographer, Hollywood and television entertainer and Smoky's beloved friend, but also as a beloved son, husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather of many, as well as a friend to all who were fortunate to meet, work, or engage with him. Peace be with you, Bill. You will forever live in our hearts as a person who has truly made the world a better place to live.
- The William A. Wynne Family
