Meet Journey:
Journey is a yorkie/maltese mix. She heard about the toilet paper shortage and decided she should probably bring some to stash upstairs! Thank you, Jessica for sharing this moment with us!

Three yorkies found their forever homes this month! Meet Dexter, Bentley and Daisy's new families! We could not make these happy endings possible without volunteer support, see below for all of the reasons you should sign up to foster one of these babies!

Foster Families needed!
As we head into the cooler months, ask yourself this: would another yorkie in the home bring me happiness? I know this answer is yes. We are, after all, yorkie people! I also know that the thoughts of selling your third born child to cover the cost of a yorkie and potty training a yorkie puppy might make you think twice.

If only there was a way to spend time with a yorkie in need, to give him love and to show him that humans are a yorkie's best friend without committing to him for the next 15 years.

If only there was a way to give your already energetic yorkie a play partner for a little while. If only to give you enough peace to go and cook special dog treats for her.

If only there was a way to help another family who maybe lost their beloved yorkie connect with the perfect new yorkie to heal their broken hearts.
YTNR is in need of foster parents across the country. You can foster one time or you can foster for the next 30 years. The prerequisite is that you have a safe home for and love yorkies. Some foster parents adopt the ones who come through and leave large marks on their hearts. Some foster parents never have a yorkie who is their own. All foster parents can tell you that the rewarding moment is when you see how happy both yorkie and new family are as they leave to embark on on an adventure of their own.

I personally foster because my very energetic yorkie, Jake, loves to have a friend in the house. I cannot commit to a full time brother or sister for him but fostering is the best alternative.

Meet our new board members!
Meet Ann Sousa, YTNR secretary
Ann lives in the Reno, NV area and she joined YTNR in 2008 as a foster mom. For Ann, animals and family are her first priority. She has 5 senior cats, 4 dogs including her 2.1 lb yorkie, Tinkerbell and 2 grown sons. Ann also enjoys needle felting, mosaics and resin pours. She is in charge of social ministry at church and runs a program called Shared Harvest where they provide food and hygiene once a month to folks who live in weekly
motels in the area. Ann couldn't be more excited to join the board as our new secretary.
Meet Marilyn Leary, YTNR board
Marilyn Leary lives in Carol Stream, Illinois with her husband and their 8 year old Yorkie, Andy. They have fostered over 30 dogs for YTNR. Marilyn is a middle school music teacher, starting her 25th year. She has been involved with YTNR since 2011, and has been in charge of the database and microchip registration for YTNR for the past few years. Marilyn is pleased to be joining the board to continue this important work of rescuing dogs in need!

Hi Everyone,

Of course I'm running late and holding up the newsletter that we're trying to keep on time for first of the month delivery. Since we know that you are all sitting on pins and needles waiting to see our latest news! It was a busy month and we found lovely forever homes for three more little dogs. 

Welcome to our new Board members. Ann Sousa and Marilyn Leary. Both of these women are bringing years of experience and expertise to our cause. I look forward to working with both of them and thank them for accepting our invitation to join us in confronting the challenges we face in this new environment. I'm always amazed when looking back on the paths we have taken over the years always reaching for more and better ways to help and support these little dogs that we want the best for.

As we step into September I'm hopeful that we can enlist more volunteers that can help in parts of the country where there are no volunteers, if you're reading this and wonder if we need you, the answer is yes! please go to our web page and fill out a volunteer form and someone will contact you. I promise you will meet wonderful like minded humans that you will grow to love.
