Victor Ortiz Architecture has unveiled its design for the GS Tennis Court in Cuiabá, Brazil, which will become the largest private timber tennis court in the country. The innovative design draws inspiration from sea urchins, using straight timber beams to achieve dramatic curves in the structure. The project prioritizes material efficiency, sustainability, and incorporates additional amenities such as a spa area, changing rooms, and indoor landscaping. The architects aim to create a holistic experience for athletes and spectators while minimizing waste and promoting environmental responsibility.
The highlight of the GS Tennis Court is its magnificent domed timber roof, spanning an impressive area of 2,500 square meters. Collaborating with Structure Craft and Timbau Estruturas, Victor Ortiz has ensured meticulous craftsmanship and attention to detail in creating this visually striking focal point. With seating for up to five hundred spectators, the court provides unobstructed views and fosters a sense of community, allowing fans to enjoy the game from every perspective. The project showcases a commitment to sustainable design and aims to harmonize with the surroundings while contributing positively to the local ecosystem.
