Domestic Relations Pro Se Docket
Every second Friday of the month, Volunteer Lawyers Birmingham and the Domestic Relations Court hold a special docket for low-income pro se clients. These clients meet with an attorney volunteer before having their case heard before a judge. At the most recent docket, ten attorney volunteers represented 21 clients in Judge Blocton’s courtroom.

First time Pro Se Docket volunteer, Benita Jenkins , said, “I volunteer because I love giving back to people who wouldn’t normally have the opportunity to have an attorney to represent them. Everyone deserves the right to have a voice and this is my contribution, although small, to give back to the ones who are less fortunate than others."
Judge Blocton hears clients cases at the Pro Se Docket.
