The Market in May

The last month has brought some rainy moments to the Saturday markets, but it hasn't stopped our fearless customers from coming! Your enthusiasm drives us to be here every week, whatever the season brings us.

And what does May bring us?

Flowers! Farm Fresh Produce! and an end to the egg shortage of 2022! Of course, we have our local artisans here to bring you joy in their handcrafted products as well. Go gift yourself something nice, no one has better taste than you!

Bee Conscious has created quite a market following over the years. Located in Goochland, Bee Conscious is a farm and a bakery that excels in both operations. The farm offers seasonal produce and eggs at the market, (as well as a CSA). You can also buy fresh cut microgreens, and experience some of the bakery's delicious treats like nutella turnovers and blueberry lemon scones. A weekly market menu of baked goods is posted on @beeconsciousbakingco.

Have a special day planned? You won't see this at the market, but Bee Conscious makes wedding cakes. Yum!

If you haven't had the pleasure of meeting "Mr. Tahini" this is my official introduction. A fixture at the market with his delicious hummus and infamously good spirits, he is worth seeking out. His hummusani is freshly topped with pomegranete molasses and sumac. So delicious it is should be eaten by the spoonful immediately! For those who want to savor the experience, @mr.tahini suggests some in-market pairing: Hummus and bread from Althea, perhaps. Or some microgreens to add crunch.

Thursday Markets are Back!

Our evening markets are a great place to pick up dinner and spend some time winding down for the day.

5 pm-8pm at the Ix Art Park.

And for those whose bedtimes are after 7pm, Arts from the Underground and craft cocktails in the Looking Glass.

Our first Sunset Market was a great success, May the Fourth Be With You!
