Holy Faith HIGHLIGHTS
August 7 2022
Volume VI Issue 129

NINETEENTH SUNDAY IN ORDINARY TIME
At Holy Faith our mission is that everyone come to know, love and serve God in union with Christ Jesus and his Spirit-filled Catholic Church. In doing so we are committed to our vision to build together a community of compassion in Christ.
A Back-to-School Prayer -adapted from the USCCB (2020) see Website
Blessed are you, Lord God,

Creator of body and mind and heart; you have sent the Spirit of wisdom and knowledge to guide your people in all their ways.

At the beginning of this new school year, in this time of uncertainty and anxiety, we implore your mercy.

Bless and protect our students, teachers, staffs, their families, and especially our Parish Families.

Give wisdom to the decision makers, be they in our schools or in our homes.
Expand the horizons of our minds, and deepen our commitment to seek the truth of your ways.

Enliven our faith to reach out to those in need, particularly those isolated and lonely.

In these days when so much has changed, help us to trust in the love of your Son Jesus, our Divine Teacher, who is the same
yesterday, today, and forever.

Amen.

Observance of the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary
Monday, August 15 2022

A reminder that this year, because the Solemnity of the Assumption of the Virgin Mary takes place on a Monday, the feast is not observed as a holy day of obligation for the faithful.

In 1991 the United States Conference of Catholic Bishops determined, and the decision was confirmed by the Holy See, that when certain holy days occur on a Monday or a Saturday, the obligation to participate at Mass is dispensed from in the dioceses of the United States.

Holy Faith will celebrate the Feast Day
at the 7am and 9:30am Daily Masses (no obligation to attend)
