It's cold and snowy and there is a little ice!

Everyone glad the holidays are over and you can get back to reality? Us neither. We'd rather be ice fishing or snowmobiling, or better yet laying on a tropical beach! Yet here we are.

The ferry boats stopped running to the island in early December. This has been a little bit earlier than in years past, but the cold temps and crazy winds have made the lake and docks unsafe so the boats are taking a little nap and the islanders and ice fishermen get to fly on and off the island now. There has been some ice thick enough for fishing, but not much. Rising temps every couple weeks don't make for great fishing. We need a good, long freeze to get some thick ice. Hopefully January and February deliver.

For those of you that don't want the cold and snow, maybe it's time to start thinking about summer on Put-in-Bay instead. Don't miss out on your favorite dates. You can book directly with us through our website at putinbaygrandislander.com or by calling 419-285-5555. You can also book through booking.com and expedia.com. For rooms blocks of 10 or larger, please call 419-285-5555 to ensure that you get the best rate. Also, there are never any resort fees like other hotels on the island.

The Most Unique Bars on the Island

We've been in business for almost 30 years on Put-in-Bay. From our very first project on the island, we wanted to be unique and give people something they have not seen before. We started with a Caribbean themed hotel with live palm trees, multiple pools and a swim-up bar!

Once other business owners decided to copy our idea, we said watch this and built Splash! the World's Largest Swim-up Bar! 97 bar seats in the water, 150 chaise lounge chairs and some great afte rnoon entertainment made us the #1 place to be on gorgeous summer days.

Soon after, we decided a pirate ship would go great with our theme. Instead of something, we built one from scratch. The Flaming Skull features 60-foot-tall masts, an 80 seat bars and the best view of Splash.

Having the daytime hotspots locked down, it was time to expand to the nightlife. We created Level2, the island's only true nightclub. With a live dj every night, VIP rooms, bottle service and a huge dancefloor, Level quickly became the spot to be late night.

For those wanting a slightly more chill scene, Fat Fingerz Piano Bar might be right up your alley. Located on the front porch of the Grand Islander Hotel, Fat Fingerz offers up some of the best piano players in the region in an intimate setting. Seated around the piano in the middle of the room, the crowd becomes part of the show. Song requests and singalongs are the way to go as well as some jokes thrown in for good measure.

Our most recent creation might also be our best. We took a fully functioning 100ft ladder truck, cut it apart, built a deck around it and made it the most popular bar on Put-in-Bay! Last Resort Ladder Co. is unlike anything you have seen anywhere else. Belly up to the diamond deck bar on our fire extinguisher bar seats. Fire helmets hang from ladders overhead near an actual jump mat. Last Resort is a great place to enjoy pizza and more from Fire Engine Pizza next door.

Next time you are on island, be sure to stop by one of our bars and say hello. We can't wait to see everyone again soon.

Niagara Event Center

The Niagara Event Center is Put-in-Bay’s only full service conference center. Capable of handling groups as small as 20 and all the way up to 500, there is no other venue on the island that has the flexibility that we have. We host every event from board meetings and business conferences to trade expos and dance competitions. We can also accommodate wedding receptions and formal dinner parties. If you can think of it, we can most likely handle it in our 16,000 sq. ft. facility.

Upon entering the Niagra Event Center, your guests will be taken back by the marble floors and real palm trees that reach all the way to the skylights in the ceiling. The custom mirrored waterfall behind the lobby bar adds to the decor of this already stunning lobby. Moving into the meeting rooms, your guests will love the rich colors and the flexible floor space.

We care about the smallest details and work closely with your wedding planner and other professionals. With a full staff, we are able to serve any meeting, trade expo, conference, wedding reception or other unique events. We have a full kitchen on site and are able to cater food for any event.
