The Heart of the Caregiver ®

Fund

It’s been more than 15 years since the first The Heart of the Caregiver® small group gathered in the prayer room at my church. From the beginning, it was obvious there were a lot of us out there feeling alone, overwhelmed and even abandoned by God. But it was also obvious that God wanted to meet with us through His Word and Spirit and remind us that we’ve never been alone. He’s right here to offer relief, guidance and transformation. All we need is to remember who we are, what we have access to and receive.

And now, we are happy to announce The Heart of the Caregiver Fund to support our outreach, education and scholarship efforts.

This new not-for-profit will explore partnerships and collaborations and perhaps even extend training for professional caregivers.

It all started with a small group of participants who wanted to “pay it forward” and help us reach more people with transformative, gospel messaging. This act of love has powered God’s call to expand…and we are so grateful!

Disability and the Church Conference

The Heart of the Caregiver participated in the Disability and the Church Conference in McLean, VA along with 800 other church leaders. Our goal was to encourage church leaders to expand their definition of "disability" to not only include special needs, but also age-related issues. We also spoke on the emotional and spiritual needs of families caring for a loved one with chronic needs.

We were thrilled to be invited and inspired by all we learned and saw. If you'd like to have us speak or host a workshop for your organization, please reach out to info@theheartofthecaregiver.com.

The Heart of the Caregiver Online Groups

Caring for our daughter with special needs and my mother-in-law through cancer and dementia, I thought it would destroy me. But it put me on a path of discovering the truth of who I am, who God is and the power of His love for me and those He asked me to care for.

Join me on this path and discover the love, joy, and peace we all long to experience – in every aspect of our lives. Let God show you how He is using the care of another to reveal His Truth and Love.

Join me in weekly peer support groups starting Sunday May 17 or Monday May 18 for 9 weeks. One hour every week. Go deep into scripture and enjoy lively and transformational conversations.

Enjoy the connection, interaction and convenience of being able to participate online. Groups are usually 12-15 people or less. We have hosted these groups for 10 years and the results have been powerful.

Are you ready to take the next steps to get from overwhelmed to overjoyed?

From a participant:

"Hi Mary, I want to share a few words of gratitude for your spiritual leadership these past 9 weeks. Your guidance and participation of others has helped me seek a meaningful relationship with God, affecting not only my caregiving role but my outlook on life in general. Your courses have shown me a new way to deal with being overwhelmed and stressed."
