Racial and Ethnic Disparities in the Prevalence of Stress and Worry, Mental Health Conditions, and Increased Substance Use Among Adults During the COVID-19 Pandemic — United States, April and May 2020
Systemic social inequities and discrimination contribute to adverse health outcomes that disproportionately impact racial and ethnic minority groups. This study examined the prevalence of self-reported mental health conditions and changes in substance use to cope with stress, psychosocial stressors, and social determinants of health exacerbated during the COVID-19 pandemic.
