THE ENERGY CORRIDOR DISTRICT JOINS DENMARK'S ENERGY TRANSITION

TRADE MISSION

The Energy Corridor District Executive Director joined a Texas trade mission to Denmark in early October to learn about the Scandinavian country's energy transition and help advance Houston's own efforts to lead the global energy transition.

The trip, sponsored by the Danish Consul General in Houston's Trade Council of Denmark in North America, was designed to showcase Denmark's progress in the energy transition and green hydrogen arenas and pinpoint potential partnerships.

The Energy Corridor District has long been the heart and soul of Houston's energy industry. As the industry evolves, it is imperative that the Energy Corridor maintains its energy leadership role.

The trade mission included Houston City Council Member Abbie Kamin, District C, representatives from METRO, ERCOT (the Electric Reliability Council of Texas), Greentown Labs, Rice University, the Greater Houston Partnership, the City of Austin and others.

They met with leading energy companies, researchers and policymakers and attended the World Energy Cities Partnership (WECP). Danish and U.S. energy stakeholders recently signed an agreement to expand the production of green hydrogen generated from renewable energies or low-carbon power.

ELDRIDGE PKWY. REPAIRS

The City of Houston, following a broad assessment by The Energy Corridor District of road conditions, repaired a section of Eldridge Parkway in September.

The District, after conducting its assessment of Eldridge Parkway between Memorial and Ray Miller Park, submitted a memo to City Council Member Mary Nan Huffman, District G, documenting the needed repairs. The assessment and memo followed community complaints on the deteriorating road, and Council Member Huffman and her staff assisted with the project.

The recent road work addressed pothole issues by replacing multiple concrete panels on Eldridge Parkway near the Kendall Library and Community Center.
