The sustainable future of the automotive aftermarket
What keeps your kids up at night? The environment and recycling? Going green? Find out how the automotive aftermarket can react and remain sustainable in the eyes of future generations. Small actions can yield significant results. Are you ready?
Presented by Georgian College Automotive Business Program Students
Focus on the right-to-repair and access to vehicle data
The modern vehicle is a digital device. Cars send and receive wireless information and their sensors collect immense amounts of data needed for vehicle repair and maintenance. Today, automakers own the modern vehicle’s communication loop, meaning they control the data collected. Can the aftermarket compete if automakers maintain their control of and access to the vehicle communication loop and wireless vehicle data?
Addressing talent shortages and skills gap
With technological changes coming to the aftermarket faster and faster every day, are there enough trained technicians to go around? Will your business be able to attract the high-tech employees you need? Will you be able retrain the staff you have today to work on the cars of tomorrow? We'll look at how the industry can build the aftermarket’s workforce of the future.
Keynote Speaker - Tony Chapman
Tony Chapman is one of the youngest individuals to be inducted into the Marketing Hall of Legends, a testament to a career where he founded and built two internationally renowned branding communications agencies and a research firm, focused at getting his clients the attention they deserved.

Tony is a frequent contributor to the conversation on national television, radio, and in newspapers. He is also the host of the podcast Chatter that Matters.
Keynote Speaker Session:
A Brand New Decade - Are you Ready to Roar?
Welcome to a brand new decade, the decade of disruption. Artificial intelligence, the platform economy, purpose, and profit, an age of noise, all compounded by a changing climate and population, will force us to re-think and re-imagine how we engage our customers and earn their loyalty.

In this opening keynote, Tony Chapman will talk about how how to embrace change by focusing on the desired outcome, laddered to a higher purpose that will turn headwinds into tailwinds and whispers into roars.

What We've Been Talking About on Twitter
AIA Canada @AIAofCanada
How should the digital world be regulated? “...what happens when the first court case occurs from a citizen against the government or against an entity, banks, whatever, as a result of an AI engine having provided a service that caused harm?”

AIA Canada @AIAofCanada
A recent poll shows strong interest by Canadian consumers to purchase electric / hybrid vehicles: 56% were either interested or very interested in full-electric vehicles and 62% interested in hybrids.
