The Middle School hosted a MAP Boot Camp from Wednesday to Friday, May 10-12, at Bacon Park and later in E.T. Peters Gym in advance of state testing, which began today.
The all-day event featured 16 stations designed by Principal Dr. Brad Owings to foster team building and problem solving skills. The Parent Teacher Organization also set up games, as well as supplied bounce houses and snacks. A+ tutors from PBHS volunteered throughout the event.
Owings said he got the idea from a Leadership Academy he helped facilitate through the Department of Elementary and Secondary Education last year.

Foundation raises several thousand dollars
Over $6,000 was raised for the Poplar Bluff Public School Foundation during the 18th annual golf tournament held on Monday, May 8, at Ozark Ridge Golf Course.
The tournament allows the nonprofit organization to continue to finance innovative classroom
projects not included in the district's operational budget, as well as to fund student scholarships.
The foundation board would like to thank all the businesses and individuals who registered teams for the tournament, sponsored holes, donated door prizes and provided supplies. And a very special thanks goes to former superintendent Chris Hon, who agreed to organize the event.
