Everyone’s a Winner at Generations Ministry’s Valentine's Bingo Party!
On Saturday, February 10, Amy and Joe Anderton hosted a Valentine’s Bingo Party for grandparents and their grandchildren at their lovely home on Sullivan’s Island.
According to Jane McGreevy, the provided snacks and sweets were delicious. “There were prizes for every child,” said Jane. “Brian and I had to laugh when––after all the cupcakes, candy, etc.––our 3-year-old grandchild’s selected prize was a box of chocolates! Can you ever have enough candy?”
“It was so much fun––a blessing for all ages!” said Amy Anderton. “The children were so eager to listen, learn, and love on one another. I can still hear John Henry belly laughing with delight over a box of chocolates! We are so grateful for our St. Philip's family!”
And the games were engaging, taught with a biblical worldview that showed the precious children how much God loves them. A water relay race illustrated how God is the source of all love, and when he fills us up with love, we are to share our full cup with others. At the end of the relay, racers reversed the direction to emphasize how the love we give comes back to us.
One grandmother shared what her granddaughter said on the way home from the party: “Mimi, I really want to get closer to God. Will you help me?”
BINGO!

An Update from Our Sister Church in Haiti
by Gerry McCord, World Missions Committee
The Haiti spirit of endurance and persistence through trust and faith in the Lord is well known: it is how they have survived so much with so little and still have the joy of the Lord. St. Philip’s sister church in Haiti, St. Jean-Baptiste (St. John the Baptist), is a good example of this faith that produces joy and hope in the midst of suffering!
The church is located in the village of Plaine Mapou, which is nestled in a valley high up in the mountains of La Gonâve Island, just off the coast of mainland Haiti.
Living off the coast of an impoverished island like Haiti has always been a challenge for La Gonâvans––and for missionary travelers, too. But in these times of gang violence in Port-au-Prince and other cities on the mainland, being on the island and being remote has been a blessing. So far, La Gonâve has been “forgotten” by the gangs. The main problem has been getting the needed supplies that the island can’t produce, such as medicines, equipment, fuel, and much more. Fortunately we are still able to safely wire money down to our partners, but they still have to risk traveling to the mainland to get many of the needed supplies. The old way on a large ferry boat across the shortest span is no longer an option. The only way now is by smaller sail boats to more distant destinations.

Men of St. Philip's: You Belong in the Choir!
Gentlemen, if you're not already in the choir, now's your chance to join! The music team, led by Director of Music and Organist Chris Walchesky, is planning some beautiful music over the coming months (as always), and they particularly need male voices to round out the group.
Choral experience and the ability to read music is a plus, but neither is a necessity––staff singers are available to help guide you during rehearsals and services.
Click the link below to get started. We can't wait for you to join us!

No. You Can't DoorDash That. | |
If you've been coming to St. Philip's for a while, you know that we welcome four-legged friends in the church office and that we are generally very hospitable and generous.
However, when Chisolm Leonard's granddog Bennett visited, he was offered not a single bite of the taco makings that lined the first-floor hallway. Not because there wasn't enough to share. Not because anyone was told that Bennett had a sensitive tummy and was not allowed to eat tacos. No, poor Bennett was simply...overlooked.
We have not yet been officially reprimanded by PETA, and if you were considering calling them on Bennett's behalf, we humbly ask that you instead accept our apology and our promise that the next time Bennett visits, we will offer him any of the leftovers he seems interested in, and if for some reason they are not to his liking, we will order him something with DoorDash. Maybe a filet from Hall's? Can you DoorDash that?
If you follow us on social media, you already knew about poor Bennett's unfortunate situation. But if this is the first you're hearing about it, why not hang up on PETA (seriously...we already asked you not to talk to them) and take a minute right now to give us a follow so that you, too, can be among the first to hear about schedule changes, special events, and office goings-on?
