Bring a friend or family member to our public Annual General Meeting!

Come meet our board of directors and join fellow staff and families as we gather for this important event. The meeting will provide a detailed overview of the goals our hospice is working towards in the coming year, including an exciting update on the progress of Keaton's House - Paul Paletta Children's Hospice.

We hope to see you there!

RSVP for the Mandatory Staff Meeting

Our annual staff meeting is on September 26th at 1 PM in the great room.

Please RSVP by emailing Claudia if you will be joining us for both lunch at 12 PM and the meeting. If extenuating circumstances prevent you from attending, it is still required that you inform Claudia in advance.

We look forward to seeing you there! Due to the limited space in our lot, please park at Cornerstone Church, located at 353 Stone Church Road East, if you are able.

Sept 11th - Gratitude Day

We all have a lot to be grateful for. Take a moment to think of "3 Good Things" that have you feeling grateful.

Sept 18th - Fall Equinox

First day of Fall is Sept. 22nd but we're celebrating a little early. If you love fall, wear some fall colours and welcome this giving season!

Committees

The social committee will begin meeting in October. We invite at least three new members (especially from the patient care team) to join us. The commitment is light - email Claudia to find out more.

Staff Highlights

For over 24 years, Kylie has been the heart and soul of our kitchen. While it’s hard to see her go, we are excited for her as she begins her adventures in Alberta. Come and celebrate Kylie and wish her well.

Welcoming New Student Interns

You will notice some new faces around our house! Laken Burbidge and Maca Pizarro have joined our Day Program as Art Therapy interns from the Toronto Art Therapy Institute (TATI).

Alexander (Alex) Brown is an intern from the Mohawk College Child and Youth Care program and will be working with the Grief and Bereavement Team (until December).

Here are a few questions we asked Alex about why he chose KCN for his placement:

Q: What are your future aspirations?

I hope to work in either a school setting or a healthcare setting, supporting youth who are struggling with mental illness.

Q: What made you choose KCN?

My own personal experiences with grief drew me to this placement. I would also like to educate myself on the topic of grief further so that I can learn how to better support others through their grief journeys.
