The Last Two Weeks at Tailwheel Town

Talk about timing!  I had a really nice visit from a guy who kind of epitomizes the kind of fliers who visit Tailwheel Town.  You see, the people who come here are usually good pilots who just want to get better.  In the case of Alan Christy, it was sweetened by the fact that Alan has a really nice little PA12 and we flew it for a couple of days.  Alan didn't realize that my PA12 was sitting in a hangar, reduced to a pile of wreckage.  And that was one of the facts that made his visit especially nice.  We had a ball, summed up by Alan's statement, "THIS is what I wanted to learn from you!" when we were doing some one-wheel work and multiples.

Alan and I stopped by Erik Cook's shop in Prineville (High Desert Aviation) for a nice visit with Erik and Marty as well as a little service on the -12's brakes.  They proved once more what great mechanics they are.

I said "goodbye" to one of the best pilots who's taken the course.  Josh Watts is off to other things and we've had a great time!

Right now I'm having a wonderful time with a new tailwheeler, Seth Hoffstetter.  We're entertaining the hell out of each other!

Seth Hofstetter.... you'll be seeing more of him!

A New Article on the Tailwheeler's Journal

Today's new article is called "G Available".  In my opinion, it's a subject that more students should become aware of (along with ending a sentence with a preposition).

The Older Article

"68 Lost, huh" is this week's older article.  I thought that the incident that inspired this story was a real crackup. And I want to thank Wayne for posing in the picture of the pilot using the chart and string.  Don't know what I'm talking about?  Read the article!
