Sunday's message by Kara Stromberg

This Sunday, Guest Speaker Kara Stromberg will give the message, "Wilderness People," Luke’s text (4:1-13) about Jesus being tempted invites us to consider what it means to be wilderness people, devoted to God through times of trial and hardship.

Kara Stromberg recently completed her first year serving as Superintendent of the Northwest Conference, the regional arm of the Evangelical Covenant Church that encompasses 140 churches in MN, ND, SD, and Western WI. Prior to that, she served for 10+ years in other positions at the Northwest Conference, including Associate Superintendent and Director of Children and Family Ministry, as well as youth ministry roles and not-for-profit work with youth-serving organizations. She lives in St. Paul with her husband, Nate, and three kids and is honored to join you today for worship.

We provide childcare for ages birth through 4 years old during our Sunday service. The nursery is located up the stairs to your left as you enter the church. If you'd like to take advantage of this new service, please drop your child off before the service, and don't forget to pick them up after!

Wednesday nights are our favorite night of the week here at Lake Union! See you this Wednesday night as we have a ton of fun and learn even more about Jesus!

Pie, Ice Cream, and Hymn Sing Spectacular!

Thank you to all attending, donating, volunteering, and participating in this special event. You donated $1,383 and the proceeds support our children/youth attending summer camp. What a fun event! Our kids and the church are grateful!

We are excited to see Ari again! Many may remember his previous visit to Lake Union Church. He is always interesting and passionate about the mission of Chosen People Ministries. Join us in the sanctuary after the service (10:15 a.m.) for Ari's informal presentation. Please consider a free-will offering to support Chosen People Ministries. Checks would be made out to that organization. Ari will have resources available for purchase before and after his presentation and discussion for those interested.
