LATEST UPDATE: What to Expect With Construction

Construction is underway and the crews are visible, working along both sides of U.S. 69. The construction team is working hard to place temporary widening throughout the U.S. 69 corridor to prepare for the first major traffic shifts. Bridge rehabilitation work is also taking place in many locations along the corridor, mainly overnight. This bridge rehabilitation work is scheduled to be complete by April 7.

Erosion control measures are in place as the contractor works to help protect streams and waterways. The project team has erected a temporary concrete plant in the 135th Street loop ramp. The plant will be utilized to support construction activities throughout the project.

TIGER TV

Project Director Steve Rockers and Project Manager Jason Sanders were honored to be interviewed by two sophomores at Blue Valley High School for their internal news broadcast on TIGER TV. They asked excellent questions about what to expect with this construction project and how the toll lanes will work.

Three-Week Overnight Road Closure - 135th Street

Starting April 3rd, 135th Street will be closing nightly from Sundays-Thursdays. The nightly closures will begin at 5 p.m. on Sunday and 8 p.m. Monday through Thursday. 135th Street will reopen each morning by 6 a.m.

Work is anticipated to last approximately 3 weeks. Ramps will remain open to traffic. The marked detour route will take traffic to 143rd Street along either Metcalf Ave. or Antioch Rd.*

90-Day Lane Closure Reminder - 151st Street

Starting April 6, one lane will be closed on northbound U.S. 69 over 151st Street for bridge work. This bridge work is anticipated to continue through early July.

Please consider alternate routes for travel as traffic delays are expected. All work is weather dependent.

69Express New Configuration

With construction taking place over the next three years, it is difficult to imagine how the final design and configuration will look. The corridor design is now available on our website.

While some details may change, the configuration of the corridor is marked on this map. You can also download the full, larger scale map here.
