Let's take a look at the project, moving from south to north along U.S. 69:
At 151st Street and U.S. 69, the first phase of bridge rehabilitation work is complete, and traffic has been moved to the lane of the newly rehabilitated bridge.
Details are in the article below.
Bridge work is underway at several locations throughout the corridor. At U.S. 69 and 143rd Street, crews have built temporary access drives, shoring, and walls to facilitate bridge construction. Soon crews will begin installing steel piling for bridge foundations as well as temporary shoring towers to support the bridge work during construction. At Indian Creek, crews are constructing the new southbound U.S. 69 bridge adjacent to the existing bridge.
At the northbound bridges of U.S. 69 over 135th Street and Tomahawk Creek, temporary bridge widening is being completed to accommodate traffic in future phases of construction. This is all in preparation for a major traffic switch scheduled for early June.
In the Blue Valley Parkway interchange area, work is commencing to install a new concrete box culvert to prepare the drainage in the area. Grading and shoring work will take place before the box culvert can be installed.
U.S. 69 at 167th Street, excavation work is beginning to accommodate new drainage improvements and interchange ramps.
Please continue to watch for workers as you drive throughout the work zone.
