ALONG U.S. 69

The lane closure on northbound U.S. 69 at 151st Street remains in place for bridge work, but in the coming week this closure should end and both northbound lanes will be open to traffic during peak travel times.

Bridge work continues for southbound U.S. 69 over 143rd Street and Indian Creek. Grading and temporary widening work is progressing along U.S. 69 between throughout the corridor in preparation for a traffic pattern switch on U.S. 69.

That traffic switch will begin between Blue Valley Parkway and 151st Street as early as June 8 and will continue through the weekend. Please use extra caution and watch for crews working in these areas and throughout the U.S. 69 corridor.

135th St. Loop Ramp Closure Now June 6

The eastbound 135th Street to northbound U.S. 69 loop entrance ramp will close Tuesday, June 6 at 8 p.m. and is scheduled to reopen in mid-November, weather permitting.

The marked detour will direct traffic to travel eastbound on 135th Street and turn north onto Metcalf Avenue. Then traffic will travel northbound on Metcalf Ave., turn west on 119th Street, then use the northbound U.S. 69/119th Street entrance ramp (see map below).

135th Street will have a weekend-long full closure for demolition of the southbound U.S. 69 bridge over 135th Street. Ramps will remain open to right turn entrance/exits only. The closure will begin Friday, June 9 at 8 p.m. and reopen Monday, June 12 at 6 a.m. All work is weather-permitting and dates are subject to change.

Express Lane Access Visualized

The graphic below shows you the specific locations where drivers can enter and exit the express the toll lane. The express lanes will have pavement markings to separate the express lane from the general-purpose lanes except in the specific access locations. The access points between the express lanes and the general-purpose lanes will support smooth entrances and exits from the express lane. You can see, drivers on southbound U.S. 69 can choose to enter the express lane at 103rd Street, followed by an exit to 135th Street, before reaching the end of the express lane at 151st Street. Traveling northbound drivers can choose to enter the express lane north of 151st Street, with a direct exit to Blue Valley Parkway, then an exit to 119th Street/College/I-435, before reaching the end of the express lane at 103rd Street.

As we get closer to the toll lane opening to traffic in late 2025, additional information will be available to understand and navigate this part of the U.S. 69 corridor. Be sure to sign up for updates at 69Express.org.
