THE PROJECT
This building, the owners and the work that occurs inside this exceptional building is one of a kind. A love of community and service prompted this family owned dental business to seek out the perfect site on which to build a new office to serve their clients with the latest in technology, while also honoring the emotional needs of each patient.
The practice provides a comfort menu specifically designed to mitigate the very real anxiety dental patients may experience. It includes a weighted blanket, bluetooth headphones, personal monitors for entertainment, and a variety of waters: sparkling, still or flavored.
The intent behind the design of the building is to further alleviate anxiety by calming patients with soft organic colors, uplifting lighting elements, and noise dampening materials like carpet tiles, sound absorbing ceiling panels, window coverings and upholstered guest chairs.
Guests enter the building and are greeted by soaring ceilings with undulating curves echoed in the flooring materials and at the reception desk. Great care was taken to create a sense of space and airiness by installing custom designed aluminum sculptures that rise to the ceiling and lighting elements that are suspended by nearly invisible steel cables echoing the theme of the sculpture. The wallcovering was designed to create a visual completion of the theme with an additional nod to the sculpture, but in soft, nearly pearlized colors.
There is a space for any sort of patient to enjoy: the children have a dedicated desk and play environment, a more “adult” built-in banquette seat provides a space that feels like a Beverly Hills aesthetician’s office, and more traditional seating accommodates less anxious guests.
This office is the crowning achievement of the family and of the architect, designer and contractor who so creatively collaborated to accomplish this spectacular space.
