7th Grade Students participated in an experiment last week about exothermic reactions.

Students were testing two different chemical reactions (calcium chloride + water, then yeast + hydrogen peroxide) to see how much of each reactant they needed in order to keep an egg incubated between 25-35 degrees Celsius for 20 minutes.

Next, students will be designing and building an egg incubator that will use the data from these experiments to identify the optimal reactions. Students are also making observations, recording data, and analyzing their findings throughout the experiment.
