Meet Freddie, Hard Worker & Music Lover
|
Freddie, a long-time member of the Abilities First family, has been involved in our community for over 20 years. Freddie has achieved so much independence, and it’s partly thanks to two things: his good work ethic and his love for music. He’s worked many jobs through the years to earn his own income and live a more independent life. But when he’s not saving his hard-earned income, he’s spending it on his favorite hobby - MUSIC!

Make Our Garden Grow: The Garden Project

The students in Class 3 have been working hard to start the NEW Abilities First School at the Straus Family Pavilion’s School Garden! From planting and watering the seeds to constructing the beds for the gardens, the students (with the help of physical therapists Kathryn and Anthony) have put a lot of time and effort into the garden.
School gardens have been shown to enhance learning, reduce stress, and decrease behavior problems. The students are all excited to work in the garden, and they can’t wait to see their hard work pay off when the plants begin to grow.
