Join Minden Hills Cultural Centre and Haliburton County Public Library for a special screening of “Malartic” (2024) on Dec. 5 from 1-2:30 pm. The documentary by Nicolas Paquet examines the disparity between the wealth generated by a large open-pit gold mine in Malartic and the town's economic decline. It highlights the imbalance of power, where local residents have little influence over decisions affecting their community.

Admission is free. All ages are welcome. No pre-registration is required. The documentary is provided courtesy of the National Film Board (NFB).
