A Message from Our Board of Directors
Board Vacancy
The CCA Board of Directors Vacancy Committee is soliciting nominations for one open board position. Vacancies occur on the Board most often when a member leaves the school or is unable to continue to serve due to personal or professional reasons.

A vacancy is different than an open election. CCA Board members serve three-year terms. A vacancy is tied to the exiting board member’s term length. The new board member will serve out the remainder of the vacating member’s term, which in this instance is until June 2022.

If you are interested, please click here to complete the Nomination Form. This vacancy will fulfill the remaining term until June 2022.

You are also welcome to click here to submit questions to the Vacancy Committee. Click here to download the Board Frequently Asked Questions document. The Timeline for the Vacancy Committee Process is as follows:
  • October 26, 2020: Call for Nominations
  • November 2, 2020 at 5:00 PM: Nominations Due
  • Vacancy Committee Review Process Begins
  • Committee Recommends Top Candidate to the Board
  • Upon Recommendation, Board Votes on Final Candidate at Next Meeting

Thank you,

Vacancy Committee

Joanne Jordan - Board Representative
Bill Baumgartner - School Accountability Committee Member
Rebecca Rook - PTO Representative
Dave Loomis - Dean of Students, CCA Representative
Board Committees
CCA holds monthly Committee meetings, tailor-made to engage our CCA community in conversations about a whole variety of topics...
  • Do you have a great idea or a special skill?
  • Are you looking to offer your volunteer hours where you have a particular interest or expertise?
  • Would you enjoy an open discussion with members of the Parent Board, Administration, and CCA Community about an issue that's important to you?

We'd love to have you join us at a CCA Committee Meeting!  CCA Committee Meetings are the BEST way to participate in active discussions about the "big-picture" issues that are near-and-dear to your heart. In addition to Committee-level projects, the work done by CCA Committees refines and prepares those issues brought to the Board as formal Action Items. Parent volunteer hours are available for attending committee meetings, and for participating in committee work.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in Committee discussions!

Weekly Spotlight: Technology Committee
The Technology Committee oversees CCA's technology assets and provides consultation and advice to the school on technology decisions. Did you know that our Technology Committee just secured funding for New devices to support some of our staff and some of our students. Our goal is always to have working devices for students to check out while their device is repaired so that all students can stay connected each day!

Anyone interested in participating in Committee Meetings can refer to the CCA Master Calendar for dates and times, or click here for more information.
Last week was another great week here at CCA with exciting things happening all over our school. Mr. Loomis is connecting and challenging his 5th and 6th grade math students by identifying time during tutorial for his math students to expand and grow their skills. Mrs. Andrus is working hard with our young readers to learn the differences between long and short vowel sounds, including an impressive rapping lesson that engages our students in a fun way. Our 1st grade classes celebrated Egypt Day, a Core Knowledge event that marks the end of their unit. Mrs. Richardson's class in 4th grade partnered with the South Metro Fire Department to bring an engaging lesson on fire safety. And finally, on Saturday, our middle school students enjoyed our Picnic and Painting event with Mrs. Peterson.

Please remember to yield when pedestrians are present, even when the light is green. Please do not make a turn until all pedestrians are on the sidewalk and completely out of the crosswalk. Per Colorado statute 42-4-802, the failure to yield to the right of way to a pedestrian in a crosswalk in a school zone is a four point ticket and comes with a fine enhancer.
