Cherry Creek Academy Presents:
100% Virtual Multicultural Festival 2021
Event Date: Friday, April 16th 5:30pm – 9pm
The Multicultural Festival is an event that displays the different cultures of the world. And what better way to achieve this than with the help of the families here at CCA that have a heritage from different countries. This event provides an opportunity for kids and adults to experience and learn about the food, costumes, environment, arts, music, ways of life, etc. of the various cultures that are represented.
Students will pick up their travel bag with their passports and a souvenir from each country being represented. The event will be broadcasted and there will be chances to win prizes for filling out your passport. Stay tuned for the link
Country leads/co-leads will double their volunteer hours!
Country Representative: Each country will be given 15 minutes to present their country in a video format. Each country will be given a minimum of $75 depending on the need. We will assist in video editing if needed. During this video, each country will need to touch on three points.
Teach us something about the country
Entertainment – ex: music, performance, art, craft
Must have something to put in the travel bag – ex: flag, keychain, something that represents the country
Submissions for representatives due: February 25th, 2021

Before each country presentation we will have cultural performances.
It is not a talent show. If any of the kids or adults would like to sing, dance, or play an instrument related to the country, then this is the avenue to do so. It is ok to invite performers from outside too. If you would like to present a cultural performance, please email
Food for Purchase: Let’s support our CCA Family-Owned Restaurants during the Multicultural Performance. We will be offering coupons for restaurants, snacks packs, grab and go’s or head to one of the restaurants to watch the performances!
Nutrition Services is offering meals for in person and remote students for the remainder of the 2020-2021 school year. Students at school can receive their meals on campus. For more information, click here.

Even though all breakfast and lunch meals are free this entire school year for all students, thanks to Federal Funds given to public schools, each public school still receives additional funds to support student learning based on the number of families who qualify for Free or Reduced meals so we encourage all families to fill out the free or reduced-price meal application. To read additional information about incomes that qualify for the Federal free and reduced meal program, please click on the link. To complete the online application, please click on this link.
Safety and Mask Reminder

As we are settling back in, we wanted to send a friendly reminder to our families about wearing masks when you are near CCA. We are asking that when you are waiting outside of CCA or walking across the crosswalk that you have a mask on. We want to do everything in our power to remain in person and that means taking every health/safety precaution that we can. We want to thank you for your partnership during this unique time and for your commitment to a safe and healthy school.
Food Drive

March is National Nutrition Month! Join CCSD for our Food Drive in all 63 School Cafeterias. Give what you don't need - canned goods, cereal, grains, beans, and anything you enjoy. Donations will go to families in the district who need assistance.

Advancing Colorado’s health and protecting the places we live, learn, work and play□

Dear parents/guardians of students in Colorado kindergarten – 12th grade schools for the 2021-22 school year:
We know you’re thinking of all the things you need to do to make sure your student is ready for school. Getting vaccinated is an important part of their school readiness and keeps children from catching and spreading diseases that can make them sick. We wish you and your student a healthy school year!

Required and recommended vaccines
  • Colorado law requires students who attend a public, private, or parochial kindergarten - 12th grade school to be vaccinated against many of the diseases vaccines can prevent, unless a certificate of exemption is filed. For more information, visit Your student must be vaccinated against:
o Diphtheria, tetanus and pertussis (DTaP, DTP, Tdap)
o Hepatitis B (HepB)
o Measles, mumps and rubella (MMR)
o Polio (IPV)
o Varicella (chickenpox)
  • Colorado follows recommendations set by the Advisory Committee on Immunization Practices. Students entering kindergarten must receive their final doses of DTaP, IPV, MMR and varicella. Students entering 6th grade must receive one dose of Tdap vaccine, even if they are under 11 years of age. You can view recommended vaccine schedules at
  • Vaccines are recommended for hepatitis A, influenza, meningococcal disease and human papillomavirus, but are not required.

Exclusion from school
  • Your student may be excluded from school if your school does not have an up-to-date vaccine record, certificate of exemption, or in-process plan for your student on file.
  • If someone gets sick with a vaccine-preventable disease or there is an outbreak at your student’s school and your student has not received the vaccine for that disease, they may be excluded from school activities. That could mean lost learning time for them and lost work and wages for you. For example, if your student has not received a MMR vaccine, they may be excluded from school for 21 days after someone gets sick with measles.
Have questions?
  • You may want to talk to a healthcare provider licensed to give vaccines or your local public health agency about which vaccines your student needs or if you have questions. You can read about the safety and importance of vaccines at,, and

Paying for vaccinations
  • If you need help finding free or low-cost vaccines and providers who give them, go to, contact your local public health agency, or call the state health department’s Family Health Line at 1-303-692-2229 or 1-800-688-7777. You can find your local public health agency at

Vaccination records
  • Please take your student’s updated vaccine record to school every time they receive a vaccine.
  • Need to find your student’s vaccine record? It may be available from the Colorado Immunization Information System. Visit for more information.

  • If your student cannot get vaccines because of medical reasons, you must submit a Certificate of Medical Exemption to your school, signed by a health care provider licensed to give vaccines. You only need to submit this certificate once, unless your student’s information or school changes. You can get the form at
  • If you choose not to have your student vaccinated according to the current recommended schedule because of personal belief or religious reasons, you must submit a Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption to your school.
Nonmedical exemptions must be submitted annually at every new school year (July 1 through June 30th of the following year). There are two ways to file a nonmedical exemption.
File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption WITH a signature from an immunizing provider, OR
File the Certificate of Nonmedical Exemption received upon the completion of our online education module.

Downloadable certificates and our online education module are available at
