Kindergarten-4th Grade For In Person Learning!
CCA is excited to provide an opportunity to collect feedback from you regarding our teachers and the school environment. The Teacher Feedback data is used to provide feedback to teachers and is part of their performance evaluation done by the Executive Director and Assistant Principals. This survey contains only 5 questions per teacher. The Climate portion of the survey contains questions about the CCA administration team, school communication, academic instruction, school safety, and other aspects of the CCA environment. Responses from the Climate portion are reviewed by the School Accountability Committee, CCA administration, and the CCA Parent Board to guide future improvements to our school. The survey should not take longer than 20 minutes to complete. In exchange for your feedback, you are allowed to enter 2 hours of volunteer time. As a parent-involved charter school, this is your chance to help provide both positive and constructive feedback for CCA teachers, the administration, and the Parent Board. Note that the survey is intended to be filled out by parents, not students. Also note that the survey is designed to track trends across multiple years, and because we are hopeful the pandemic will not impact future school years, there are no pandemic-specific questions in the survey. Comments and concerns pertaining to the pandemic and related issues can be addressed directly to Ann Schultz ( and/or the CCA Parent Board (
The survey will be available until midnight on Tuesday, January 19th:
Congratulations Young Artists!
Students were invited to participate in the National Western Virtual Youth Art Contest. A few of our CCA students took the opportunity to do just that. We are proud to announce that two of our students were recognized for their exceptional work.

Sophia Zhang received honorable mention in the 4th Grade category and Ethan Zhang won Grand Champion for 5th Grade! We are so proud of them and the hard work that they put into creating these award winning pieces of art. Both artists will be listed for their winning entries and Ethan’s art will be visible online starting January 9th at
An Important Note About Returning To School:

As we anticipate our return to full time in-person learning for our K-4 students on Monday, January 11, 2021, we want to reiterate how extremely important it is to keep your child home if they are ill.

Please notify Nurse Jayne at if your child has a positive COVID test or if your child has been exposed to someone with a positive COVID test so that we can take the appropriate steps to ensure the safety of our students and staff.

Please send only two digital photos and don't forget to include your students name, to our Director of Communications, Rachel Brooks at

Thanks so much for your help with this! We look forward to celebrating your students in the Spring!

Smoky Hill High School Incoming Freshman
Greetings Future Buffs!

Typically, this time of year we are reaching out and inviting you to Smoky Hill HS for what we call Incoming Freshmen Night. This is a time for students and their families to tour the building, talk with Department Coordinators, see the clubs and activities we have to offer and get a feel for what is possible at Smoky Hill HS. Unfortunately, due to COVID-19, we are unable to gather everyone together and visit with you face-to-face. In lieu of our typical event we have created an interactive site, , for you to explore and learn everything you need to know about Smoky Hill HS. Information regarding registration for your freshmen courses will be available in the coming weeks. We are all looking forward to meeting you, getting to know you, and welcoming you into The Herd!
