An Important Message from Dr. Schultz
The below message was emailed out to our CCA Community on November 5, 2020.
Dear Parents,

Today we received word from Dr. Siegfried’s Communication, November 5, 2020 that the entire Cherry Creek School District will be moving to full time remote for all K-12 learners beginning November.

This letter is meant to clarify for you what this means for Cherry Creek Academy.

CCA Middle School Grades 5-8
Because our students in Grades 5-8 are currently 100% remote, they will continue as is and will not have any disruption to their learning. All students will continue to follow their normal online learning schedule.
CCA Elementary Grades K-4
Our students in K-4 will have their last day of In-Person learning on Wednesday, November 11, 2020. Remote learning will begin on Thursday, November 12, 2020.

Our students in K-4 will begin to follow their remote learning schedule that is outlined in our CCA K-8 Remote Learning Plan. Your child’s teacher will be scheduling a virtual meeting with you to review the remote learning schedule and to share additional details with you. Please view meeting times and dates here.

During this remote learning time, please continue to notify us if your child has a positive COVID test or if your child has been exposed to someone with a positive COVID test. We need to continue to track COVID in our CCA community. Please let us know by emailing Nurse Jayne at jbauer@cherrycreekacademy.org.

If Colorado does not switch to a “Stay at Home” status, our entire staff will continue to teach from their classrooms each day just like our current 5-8 Middle School Staff is. This will allow our staff to have access to all of their instructional materials and will increase the added opportunities for collaboration and support for all staff from our full team.

CCA will continue to follow the Metrics designed by CCSD . When CCSD makes the decision to return to full time in-person elementary school, we will follow. If CCSD returns middle and high school to hybrid learning we will remain full time virtual. If CCSD returns middle and high school to full time in-person learning we will follow because that will mean that state and local restrictions have been lifted. By remaining 100% virtual for our middle school students we have had no disruptions in the learning of our middle school students. We value having our children with teachers 5 days a week for consistent instruction and opportunities to learn.

If you have any questions, please feel free to reach out to your child’s teachers and/or email me at aschultz@cherrycreekacademy.org. I am also available on my cell phone at 920-216-9111.

Respectfully,
Ann Schultz

A Message from Our Board of Directors
CCA holds monthly Committee meetings, tailor-made to engage our CCA community in conversations about a whole variety of topics...
  • Do you have a great idea or a special skill?
  • Are you looking to offer your volunteer hours where you have a particular interest or expertise?
  • Would you enjoy an open discussion with members of the Parent Board, Administration, and CCA Community about an issue that's important to you?

We'd love to have you join us at a CCA Committee Meeting!  CCA Committee Meetings are the BEST way to participate in active discussions about the "big-picture" issues that are near-and-dear to your heart. In addition to Committee-level projects, the work done by CCA Committees refines and prepares those issues brought to the Board as formal Action Items. Parent volunteer hours are available for attending committee meetings, and for participating in committee work.

Everyone is welcome and encouraged to participate in Committee discussions!

Weekly Spotlight: School Accountability Committee (SAC)

Working as an extension of the Governance Committee, the SAC Committee, consisting of representatives from across CCA including parents, teachers, the board, the PTO, and CCA administration, implements an annual survey to collect feedback from parents on teachers, and feedback from parents and other community members on aspects of school climate. Additionally, the SAC ensures that the school Dashboard and Unified Improvement Plan are kept current each year by the CCA Executive Director and administration team.

Look for the upcoming SAC Survey to be open for your feedback in January. We look forward to hearing from you!

Anyone interested in participating in Committee Meetings can refer to the CCA Master Calendar for dates and times, or click here for more information.
