The Naugatuck Housing Authority, IN NEW HAVEN COUNTY, CT
Announces the opening of the
Section 8 Housing Choice Voucher waiting list.
This program offers rent subsidies in the Borough of Naugatuck. All applicants must be
18 years of age or older to apply. Applicants must meet all U.S. Department of Housing
and Urban Development eligibility guidelines and must not exceed income limits posted
below
Income Guidelines:

Only Pre-applications postmarked between Monday, March 15, 2021 and Friday
March 19, 2021 will be accepted, no earlier than March 15, 2021 and no later than
March 19, 2021. One pre-application form per family will be accepted. NHA will only
accept one preapplication per envelope. Duplicate pre-applications will be disregarded.
Only pre-applications that are complete and legible will be accepted. Applicants will be
required to live in Naugatuck for one year upon receipt of voucher.
Five Hundred (500) Pre-applications for the Section 8 Program will be placed on the
waiting list in chronological order as determined by lottery. Only those selected will be
notified via mail by April 30, 2021.

Section 8 Tenant-Based Voucher Program
Wait List Opening Announcement
The Housing Authority of the City of Meriden (HACM) will be accepting Section 8 TenantBased applications (HCV Program). HCV is a federally-funded program that subsidizes decent,
safe, and sanitary housing for low-income persons.
When: The open enrollment period will be from Wednesday, March 17, 2021, at 9:00 a.m. to
Wednesday, March 31, 2021, at 4:30 p.m. ET. Only one pre-application per family will be
accepted. Duplicate applications will be rejected. If you need assistance in another language,
Google Translate will assist you during the application process.
Where: Pre-applications can be submitted online at https://www.waitlistcheck.com/CT2833-
3336 with the use of a personal computer, laptop, smartphone, and tablet. If you do not have
internet services you can obtain a pre-application at 22 Church St, Meriden, CT or the Meriden
Housing website at www.meriden-ha.com and can be drop off at the drop box located on the
right side of the building. Any applications mailed to our office must be postmarked no later than
March 31, 2021. Incomplete applications will not be included in the lottery and will be
discarded.
Reasonable Accommodation: It is the policy of the MHA to provide reasonable
accommodations to those persons with disabilities so that they can participate equally in its
housing programs. To request a reasonable accommodation, please contact our office during the
enrollment period at 203-235-0157 Ext 7100 or section8waitinglist@meriden-ha.com.
Information required: Names, address, social security numbers, birthdates, income information
for everyone in the household and valid email address.
Maximum Income Limits: Income limits are current and subject to change.
• 1 person - $35,950
• 2 persons - $41,050
• 3 persons - $46,200
• 4 persons - $51,300
• 5 persons - $55,450
• 6 persons - $59,550
Applicants must meet all U.S Department of Housing and Urban Development income and
eligibility requirements.
Lottery Process: The waiting list placement will be based on a computerized random selection
(lottery process). Once the waitlist open enrollment period ends, 2000 pre-applications will be
selected to be on the waitlist. Only those randomly selected will be notified of placement on the
waiting list. Those chosen in the lottery will be notified by mail no later than April 16, 2021.
Therefore, if you do not receive a letter by April 22, 2021, your application was not drawn and
will not be placed on this waitlist. Submission of a pre-application does not guarantee placement
on the waitlist, eligibility, or a unit offer.
HACM will post the status information on www.hmsforweb.com/owl/login.php Applicants may
verify if they were selected.
