The CTE General Advisory Council advises, assists and provides support and advocacy for quality CTE programs. Advisory council volunteers have the opportunity to learn more about the CTE program, and the school personnel are able to increase their understanding of the job market, employers' needs, and community opportunities. Council members include Jason Adams, Donnie Bunker, Alison Clinton, Jenny Collins, JD Fernstrom, Brian Fox, and Rick Goble. The council met on September 29. We are pleased to be sending a team of educators and a community member to the Association for Career and Technical Education (ACTE) national conference in early December.

The ACTE is the largest national education association dedicated to the advancement of education that prepares youth and adults for careers. The conference will be held in New Orleans. Of particular interest is some site visits to schools in the area. Workshops we attend will offer insights into focused topics and CTE programming. We hope to find new and innovative practices, real-world solutions, and expand our network of CTE peers to call upon for new ideas and models of learning.
